Have you seen Ozuna and Manuel Turizo's video for Vaina loca yet?
It has a few surprises in it and the song is really catchy!
I wrote up a story for upper levels that focuses on the structure quería que + imperfect subjunctive.
You can see it in the slideshow below or click here to make a copy for yourself. And here is a cloze activity for the song, along with the translation of it.
One reason I like this video is that it has a gay couple in it. Almost all of the relationships that students see in my class, and probably school, (in books, movies, music videos, etc.) are hetero relationships. I often think about gay students (out or not) and how that must feel to almost never see any gay relationships represented in school, so this is one example of how to show that in class.
A student actually requested this song a few weeks ago, but I haven't gotten around to using it yet. So thank you for sharing resources! Can you adjust the permissions on the song cloze? It isn't letting me view it. Gracias!
Fixed! Thanks for letting me know!Eliminar
How do you only teach AP Spanish in 1 semester?!? I can barely get through the curriculum with two semesters.ResponderEliminar
Yes, it is INSANE!!!! And pressure filled! But my students have had success (in 2014 and 2016 when I taught it). In 2016 all passed and I am hoping for the same results this year!Eliminar
Fortunately, I have some students in Culture and Civilization this semester and I do a lot of pre-AP stuff there. Others are in Spanish 4 Honors now (which isn't really pre-AP though)
This is great Kara! Have you seen Invencible yet by Choquibtown? It also has some good surprises!! Maybe you will beat me to it in making a story/ sequence! :)ResponderEliminar
